Emfed Farms and Trading Company Limited was formally incorporated in 2017, building on the strong foundation of an earlier sole proprietorship known as Emfed Farms. What began as a modest farming operation has grown into a dynamic, integrated agricultural services company with deep roots in Ghana's cocoa-growing communities.Over the years, we have evolved beyond traditional farming into a full-service agricultural partner — supporting farmers with cocoa purchasing, farm management, input distribution, compost production, and extension services. This journey has been driven by a clear understanding of the challenges faced by smallholder farmers and a commitment to delivering practical, sustainable solutions.Today, Emfed Farms stands as a trusted partner to farmers, development organisations, and global agribusiness stakeholders — continuing to expand our reach and impact through innovative service delivery models such as rural service centres and circular agriculture systems.

What We Do - Our Four Core Divisions

Our work is organised into four divisions, each designed to address a critical need within the agricultural value chain — forming a cohesive ecosystem that supports farmers at every stage, from production to market.
Farm ManagementSupporting absentee & vulnerable farmersProfessional, end-to-end farm services for absentee, elderly, and vulnerable farmers. We handle everything from land preparation and planting to pruning, harvesting, and maintenance — applying Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to keep farms productive and profitable.
Emfed OrganicsOur Fertiliser Production DivisionWe convert agricultural waste — cocoa pod husks, poultry droppings, oil palm residues — into nutrient-rich compost. This circular approach restores soil fertility, improves crop yields, and reduces farmer reliance on expensive inorganic fertilisers.
Inputs & SuppliesAgrochemicals and farm inputsReliable access to fertilisers, agrochemicals, PPE, and farm tools — carefully sourced and supplied to individual farmers and agro-dealers. By making quality inputs accessible within rural communities, we help farmers improve productivity and adopt better practices.
Cocoa PurchasingLicensed Buying & PBC Commission ServicesWe purchase cocoa beans directly from farmers, offering a transparent, efficient, and reliable buying process. Farmers benefit from fair pricing and prompt payment. Operating within Ghana's regulated cocoa sector, we aggregate quality beans while strengthening lasting farmer relationships.
